SRA Price & Service Transparency

SRA Price & Service Transparency At Fairhill Solicitors

we are committed to providing clear, transparent pricing for all our immigration services. We recognise that the legal process can often feel overwhelming, so weensure that our fees remain clear, competitive, and tailored to suit each client’s individual needs.

In compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Transparency Rules, we provide detailed information about our pricing and services for immigration matters.

The fixed fees below serve as a guide only and not as a quote. The cost of immigration applications can vary based on your specific circumstances. Factors such as complicated immigration history, criminal convictions, time sensitivity, type of application, solicitor’s experience and factual complexity may influence pricing structure. Several factors can impact costs, including your current country of residence, immigration history, the availability and accuracy of supporting documents, the volume of evidence that needs to be assessed, and the time required to prepare your application. Additional considerations include Home Office processing times and whether an interview is necessary.

Disbursements such as filing fees and other expenses are charged in addition to our fixed fees.

Unless where otherwise stated, we provide the following service:

  • Full start to end advice and assistance on the application forms to be submitted;
  • A full reviewof all documentary evidence;
  • Assistance throughout the process and procedures of the application up until the point of Home Office decision;
  • Once the Home Office decision has been made further advice will be provided on next steps

Potential Disbursements

In addition to our fixed fee, you may need to pay for any disbursements applicable to your matter. The most common disbursements include:

  1. Visa Fees–these vary depending on the application type and the length of the visa (a list can be found here);
  2. Immigration Health Surcharge–this is charged at £1,035per year, although a lower rate of £776per year sometimes applies (e.g. to children’s applications);
  3. Premium Processing–this is optional and usually ranges from £300to around £1,500depending on the location you are applying from and the type of application;
  4. Appointment Fees–there may be an additional fee for booking a biometric appointment, which usually ranges from £60to £300 depending on the location;
  5. Immigration Skills Charge–this applies to sponsored work visas only (e.g. Skilled Worker or Intra Company Transfer visas), and is usually charged at £364 per year or£1,000 per year depending on the sponsoring company’s size. Please note that this cost must be paid by the sponsoring company rather than the applicant;
  6. Other Charges–there may be other charges applicable to your matter such as post age costs, obtaining certified translations, obtaining a Criminal Records Certificate, taking an English language test and/or a Life in the UK Test, or getting a Tuberculosis test. These costs are fact dependent, but usually range from £100 to £1,000 total;
  7.  Counsel’s fees–in most cases we do not need to instruct a barrister (specialists in attending and arguing at Court) on your behalf. If a barrister is needed then the cost is likely to befrom£600to £5,000 depending on the circumstances. The cost is fact dependent and we will seek a quote on your behalf before instructing a barrister.

Please note that we will provide a detailed estimate of anticipated disbursements at the outsetof each client instruction.

Immigration Services–Estimated Timescales

Every immigration case is unique, meaning processing times can vary. During your initial consultation, we will provide a more accurate estimate based on the specifics of your situation.

For certain applications, such as Private Life and Leave outside the Immigration Rules, processing times can extend to 6–12months.

Once we submit your application to the Home Office, we will handle all communications on your behalf until a decision is reached and your documents are returned. We will keep you informed of any updates or correspondence throughout the process.

For the most current visa processing times, we recommend referring to the official Home Office website:

Please note that we cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application.

The estimated hours and fees provided are based on the factors outlined above. As each case is different, we will be able to offer a more precise estimate once we have a clearer understanding of your individual circumstances.
